How It Started
Bosky School of Music was founded by two local musicians who grew up right here in the Rio Grande Valley. Both built careers in music, teaching independently, performing with orchestras, and giving private lessons across the region.
But they kept running into the same problem: there was no dedicated space for string education in the Valley. No place where students could come together under one roof for serious, focused instruction, whether they were toddlers hearing their first notes or high schoolers preparing for UIL competition.
In 2021, Joel opened Bosky Strings, a full-service violin shop in Edinburg. What started as a small space with one room for lessons quickly outgrew itself. In September 2024, Bosky Strings moved to a larger facility on South Jackson Road, and that's when Joel and Miguel officially launched Bosky School of Music.
Today, the school and shop operate side by side, giving students a warm, welcoming space for quality instruction at every age and skill level. With Bosky Strings right next door, students also have direct access to instruments, rentals, and expert repairs all in one place.
