Meet Your Instructors
Every instructor at Bosky is a working musician with deep roots in the RGV. We don't just teach — we play, perform, and live this music every day.
Miguel Javier Gutierrez
Co-Founder & Instructor
Classically trained with deep roots in mariachi tradition. Miguel grew up right here in the Rio Grande Valley, where he developed a love for string music that took him from local stages to symphony orchestras.
He brings years of experience from the award-winning Mariachi Aztlan and a passion for sharing his craft with the next generation. His teaching blends technical precision with the heart and soul of RGV musical culture.
Joel Lee Ozuna
Co-Founder & Instructor
Joel discovered the violin at age 10 and never looked back. He studied at UT-Pan American (now UTRGV), where he sharpened his craft and began building a career as both a performer and educator.
He specializes in creating one-of-a-kind, motivating connections with students. With deep knowledge of string technique and a natural ability to inspire confidence, Joel helps every student find their own voice on the instrument.
Ernesto Ruben Garza
Instructor
Ernesto began his music journey in McAllen ISD and holds a Bachelor's degree in music. His training extends far beyond the Valley — he has studied at the Lynn F. Ledbetter Academy in Germany and the Plovdiv Academy in Bulgaria.
After returning to the RGV, Ernesto brought a broad, internationally informed perspective to his teaching. His approach is systematic, encouraging, and deeply committed to building strong fundamentals in every student.
Angelica Martinez
Violin Instructor
Originally from McAllen, Angelica holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from UTRGV and performs with the Valley Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in music festivals and workshops that deepen both her playing and her teaching.
Angelica is known for her patient, detail-oriented instruction and her ability to help students build confidence alongside technique.
Alicia Romero
Owner of Tot Lot Music | Kindermusik Instructor
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. In January 2023, she founded Tot Lot Music to bring high-quality early childhood music education to the Valley.
Inspired by the Kindermusik program and its focus on whole-child development, Alicia leads classes at Bosky that introduce the youngest learners to music through movement, rhythm, and play.
Ally Garza Sanchez
Violin, Viola, and Cello Instructor
Ally holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from UTRGV and has taught orchestra at Edinburg CISD. Her classroom and private teaching experience gives her a strong sense of how to meet students where they are and build their skills systematically.
Ally is a dedicated and encouraging instructor who brings both warmth and structure to her lessons.
